In this exciting and fulfilling role as Functional Skills / Pastoral Care Tutor you will:
- Deliver training to young people in Maths and English, supporting their individual needs and skills development.
- Plan and conduct small group and one-to-one sessions with creativity and confidence.
- Assess and monitor learner progress and performance, keeping records up to date.
- Schedule workplace visits and assessments, ensuring the quality of training aligns with the Academy’s vision.
- Work closely with learners and employers to support personal and social development.
- Maintain high-quality training standards and stay current with awarding body standards.
- Maintain excellent communication and presentation skills.
To excel in this role you will:
- Have relevant teaching qualification or sufficient experience.
- Excellent communication skills, be approachable, able to initiate ideas and support learners where there are personal barriers to learning
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Have good organisational skills.
- Be flexible and able to inspire and motivate learners.
- Experience in SEN, EHCP, and learning support preferred but not essential.
- Driving license and access to own vehicle (preferred but not essential)
