Job Description
Based in Birmingham City Centre, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our team as a Full Time Functional Skills/Pastoral Tutor, specialising in English/Maths.
Day to day duties:
Deliver training to young people in Maths and English, supporting their individual needs and skills development Plan and conduct small group and one-to-one sessions with creativity and confidence Assess and monitor learner progress and performance, keeping learner and tracking records up to date Where required to schedule workplace visits and assessments, ensuring the quality of training aligns with the Academy’s vision Work closely with learners and employers to support personal and social development Maintain high-quality training standards in following the set curriculum that is current with awarding body standards Maintain excellent communication and presentation skills Deliver innovative and creative sessions in gaining learner interaction
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:
Relevant teaching qualification or significant/sufficient experience Experience of delivering Functional Skills/Maths and English to Level 2 Passion & desire to teach Willingness to undertake any relevant Teaching Qualifications where necessary. Excellent communication skills, approachable, able to initiate ideas and support learners where there are personal barriers to learning Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, good organizational skills Flexibility and be able to inspire and motivate learners Experience in SEN, EHCP, and learning support (preferred but not essential) Driving license and access to own vehicle (preferred but not essential)
